The 2nd SPEE Conference was held at UTAD (University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto-Douro) from October 19 to 21, 2016, entitled “(Re) thinking Higher Engineering Education.”

The SPEE Annual General Meeting Nº 8 took place on March 30, 2015, at 14:30, in the Noble Amphitheater of the Department of Chemical Engineering of the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade de Coimbra (Pole II of the University of Coimbra, view location of DEQ-FCTUC).
Was held in the Anfiteatro Nobre of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Polo II, University of Coimbra, on March 30, 2015, from 10am to 12pm, a session organized by the SPEE, open to all stakeholders, entitled “The attractiveness of engineering courses in Portugal: analysis and solutions”. The Panel of the session was made up of Prof. Luís Filipe Menezes (Vice-Rector representing the Rector of the University of Coimbra), Prof. José Carlos Marques dos Santos (University of Porto), Prof. António Dias de Figueiredo (University of Coimbra), Prof. Armando Pires (Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal) and Prof. José Carlos Quadrado (Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto), who moderated the session.
The 1st SPEE Conference took place at ISEP (Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto), from October 31 to November 1, 2013.
Dedicated to the theme “Engineering Education: Challenges for Innovation”, this event addressed issues such as engineering ethics, the role of ICT in teaching and the value of continuing education; it included training workshops, poster sessions, and demonstrations.

experiment@portugal received an Honorary Mention at the “blended learning” session of the 2012 International E-Learning Awards, Academic Division (IELA).
This application was made on behalf of SPEE and the portal was developed by SPEE members Maria Teresa Restivo and Alberto Cardoso who led the “Information Technologies in the Service of Engineering Education” working group; they were assisted by SPEE staff member Joana Quintela.
