SPEE President Gustavo Alves was a speaker at the 5th Civil Engineering Conference, under the theme “Construction and Rehabilitation: What about Future?” organized by ESTBarreiro/IPS, which took place on March 27. The lecture titled “Trends in Engineering Education” was framed in a session dedicated to teaching civil engineering, which also had the contribution of the associate Barbara Gabriel of University of Aveiro, who spoke on “New methodologies of engineering teaching.”

SPEE Board is visiting EEUM in the morning of June 26, promoting an open session to all Colleagues to:

SPEE visited ESTBarreiro, ESTSetúbal of IPS, FCT/UNL and ISEL on February 4 and 5

The SPEE Board visited the ESTBarreiro, ESTSetúbal campus of the IPS, FCT / UNL and ISEL on February 4 and 5, 2019 with the purpose of presenting the Society to the respective professors.

The Board took advantage of this open session of dissemination of the Society to attract new members, as well as initiate a dialogue with the individual members of these Institutions on current aspects of Engineering Education.

In addition to the open session, there were also brief working meetings between the SPEE Board and the Directors of ESTBarreiro, Pedro Ferreira, ESTSetúbal, Nuno Pereira, FCT / UNL, Virgílio Cruz Machado and ISEL, Jorge de Sousa.

This activity is part of the 2nd axis defined by the Board in its business plan, namely to bring the Society closer to its members, both individual and institutional. It should be noted that all the visited institutions are founding partners of SPEE.

“Forum of Development of Engineering Education” May 9

SPEE supports the “Forum of Development of Engineering Education”, which will take place on May 9, 2019, in the auditorium of the Higher Institute of Engineering of Coimbra (ISEC), under the auspices of the ISEC Pedagogical Council. The Forum includes invited presentations of elements from the working groups of the European Society for Engineering Education (SEFI), as a promotor for the discussion of the creation / continuation of the SPEE working groups.

The event is also sponsored by the Associação Ibero-americana de Instituições de Ensino de Engenharia (ASIBEI).

In the morning we have a group of guest speakers who will share their experience as members of the working groups of the European Society for Engineering Education (SEFI), and in the afternoon there will be discussion groups, which could re-activate former SPEE working groups or encourage the formation of new ones.
